Please note! The People, Places, and Nature categories are for print media submissions ONLY (mailed or delivered to First State Bank).

A.      A.   PEOPLE:   This category shows people in all walks of life.  May include but not limited to:
kids and family, sports, portraits/models, etc. 

B.      B.   PLACES:   These images express a sense of place.  May include but not limited to: 
travel/vacation photography, seascapes, cityscapes, landscapes, buildings, nature images, etc. 

C.      C.   NATURE:   This category showcases nature images, animals and plant life.  May include
but not limited to: outdoor scenery, landscapes, plants/flowers, wildlife, pets, insects, etc.

Note: It is the responsibility of the photographer to read through the category descriptions and choose the appropriate category for the image. The image may fit multiple categories and the photographer’s selection is final.

Preparing Print Photos

Any color or black-and-white print up to 11x14 inches is acceptable.  The image may be in any aspect ratio that fits within these dimensions.  All prints must be mounted on 11 x 14 mounting boards.  Prints must be securely mounted with EXTRA STRENGTH double sided tape.

Do not use an overmatte. Do not add names or text on the front of the photo or mounting board. Do not submit any images with branding or watermarks.

All entries must be accompanied with a fully completed and signed Entry Form.  The Image Label from the Entry Form must be securely attached to each individual photo submission in the BACK UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER of the mounting board.

Mounting boards can be purchased at any First State Bank Denton branch location.  Please see inside lobby for details.

Divisions & Fees

Student Division:  For anyone 17 years of age and younger on October 15^th, 2012. 
The Entry Fee is $20 for the 1^st submitted image, $10 for the 2^nd and $3 for each additional image.

Adult Division:  For anyone 18 years of age and older on October 15^th, 2012. 
The Entry Fee is $25 for 1^st submitted image, $15 for the 2^nd and $5 per each additional image.

Both amateurs and professionals are encouraged to enter.

Entry Fee Payments
All net proceeds go to benefit the United Way of Denton County.  Cash or checks are accepted for the People, Places, and Nature Categories ONLY.  Please, make checks payable to: “First State Bank.”

In-Person Submissions:
For the People, Places, and Nature categories, photos may be submitted at one of First State Bank’s three Denton branch locations, please submit inside branch lobby:

Hours:
-          Monday-Thursday 9am to 4pm
-          Friday 9am to 6pm

Saturday in-person entries will be accepted at the Downtown Branch ONLY.                               Saturday, October 20^th and 27^th 9am to 11am

Mail-In Submissions:
All photos and fees must be received by October 27^th, 2012 for eligibility in the contest.  You may contact First State Bank at 940.349.5444 to ensure your photos have been received.  Please mail to the address listed below:

Picking up Submitted Photos
Images may be picked up at First State Bank’s Downtown Denton branch at 400 W. Oak Street  December 3 – 8, 2012.
Monday-Thursday 9am to 4pm
Friday 9am to 6pm
Saturday 9am to 11am

Images left after December 8th will become the property of Denton Record-Chronicle and First State Bank.  While DRC and FSB will make every attempt to oversee the pick-up process, neither is liable for lost or damaged photos nor awards.
